What is Hip and Groin Pain?

The most common cause of hip and groin pain is often one or more soft tissue structure around the hip joint being strained, overstretched or inflamed. Although there are a number of conditions that can cause hip and groin pain. Since the hip and the groin areas are big with a lot of structures, it is important not to self-diagnose as a lot of the conditions that could cause pain will often have similar symptoms with very subtle differences.

Symptoms may include:

  • Bruising or swelling of the inner thigh
  • Pain when walking
  • Weak or tight muscles
  • Limping or difficulty moving the leg
