Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis is a chronic condition which occurs in a structure known as the Plantar Fascia due to overuse and inflammation. Plantar Fasciitis is often felt in the morning when taking the first couple of steps of the day and at the end of a long day when resting. Plantar Fascia is a long, thick and strong ligament that originates from the lower part of the calf muscles (Gastrocnemius and Soleus) and runs along the bottom of the foot. It connects the heel (calcaneus bone) to the front of the foot to act as a shock absorber and supports the arch of the foot.
