Rotator Cuff Tendinitis or Tendonitis is an inflammatory condition which affects the tendons of the muscles that surround the shoulder joint. These muscles are called the rotator cuff group which is made up of 4 muscles called the Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor and Subscapularis. Their main function is to support the shoulder joint while it makes all the necessary movements without the joint popping out of the shoulder socket (Glenoid).
Reason
Rotator Cuff injuries are more common in people over 40, athletes, and people whose work requires repetitive overhead lifting. Rotator Cuff Tendinitis can be successfully treated with a constructive treatment plan.
Symptoms
Pain and swelling in the front of the shoulder and side of the arm
A clicking sound when raising the arm
Stiffness
Pain that can disturb sleep
A loss of mobility and strength in the affected arm
